Producing and issuing permit-ready construction drawings for interior projects in a variety of markets, focusing on corporate projects on the Orlando metropolitan area. VOA Associates, Incorporated | Orlando, Florida (1994 - 2002)
Worked at each professional level from Junior Designer up to Senior Associate. Interfaced with the Principals’ and Vice Presidents’ groups to determine overall direction of the fifty-person Orlando office. Served terms as Chairman of the Associates’ Group and chair of Activities & Events Committee. Represented the Interiors Group on Office Technology Committee, holding a supervisory role in developing and refining CAD and drafting standards for Orlando office. Project management duties included developing and maintaining client following, responsibility for all design, fiscal, manpower, and construction aspects of projects. Participated in interviews of prospective employees and assisted Interiors Group Principal in writing proposals for prospective new clients. Consistently achieved highest profit margin among project managers in the Orlando office.

In addition to project management requirements, worked for 18 months managing the Interiors Department in the Orlando office. Duties for ten-person Interiors Group included overseeing financial reports, manpower projections and allocations, and QA review of documents/ standards, in addition to reviewing new contracts and mentoring of the staff.

Transferred to the Washington, DC office for 18 months in order to work on more high profile, design-oriented projects. Won internal awards for client satisfaction and successful completion of highest fees in shortest period.

Transferred back to Orlando office to assist in reorganization of the office into market-driven practice groups. Continued duties as a senior Project Manager with a focus on re-developing corporate practice.
